Abstract
The well established Jaguar 4.2 litre engine was selected as the most suitable power unit for the tracked and wheeled versions of the Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance. This paper gives the background leading up to this choice and the modifications and development required for both the engine and ancillaries to enable the engine to operate successfully in a military environment.
