The paper describes the flow in nests of tubes as disclosed by photographs of moving specks of aluminium dust sprinkled on the surface of flowing water. Details of the necessary water speeds, illumination, camera exposure, and other relevant conditions are given in the first part of the paper, while later the effects of transverse and longitudinal pitch in both parallel and staggered nests are investigated and illustrated with photographs.
