Abstract
Typical forms of hydrostatic drives, particularly those with axial piston and vane type equipment, are described. The relative efficiency charts for units used as both pumps and motors are included. Shunt transmissions sharing the power available between hydraulic and mechanical components with a brief mathematical analysis are also included.
