There is an internal vehicle body corrosion problem which can be most effectively controlled by petroleum-based rustproofing compounds. A series of laboratory tests are reported which can be used to accurately predict the application and performance characteristics of these compounds. It is also established that these compounds provide more effective internal protective coatings than conventional factory applied finishes.
