Abstract
An account is given of recent progress in the hydrostatic extrusion processes at N.E.L. Mention is made of the problems of achieving straight and uniform products and of controlling the speed of the extruded product, and possible solutions are discussed.
The application of the process to the production of wires has been investigated, and equipment and results are given.
The tooling which has been developed from these techniques is described, and some information on basic high pressure apparatus discussed.
