Abstract
The paper discusses optimum wrapping and packing speeds, including automatic feeding, collating and general handling of retail products and in particular plastic products similar to margarine. The necessity for tailoring the wrapping and packing section to meet production requirements without stopping is made plain, as are the limitations imposed by the nature of the product and the wrap on the machines. The problems of collation and the steps which have been taken to increase optimum speed are also described.
