The thermal resistances of two pressed contacts, which under isothermal conditions were respectively between (i) a flat and a convex surface and (ii) nominally flat surfaces, have been predicted and the deductions compared with experimental measurements. The analysis evolved is useful in the design of thermal rectifiers.
