Abstract
Theoretical determination of a mathematical model to describe a polarized relay requires knowledge of the relay characteristics, i.e. the inductance, resistance and armature dynamics. Unless the data are supplied by the manufacturer determination of the characteristics is time-consuming and may present problems, especially if the inductance is required at low frequencies.
A technique is presented here which overcomes measurement difficulties at low frequency and allows an approximate model to be rapidly determined.
