The method of Kryloff and Bogoliuboff is used to investigate the non-linear oscillation of a system incorporating*** a Hooke's joint. It is found that the system ultimately executes a limit cycle of oscillation and that, in certain critical speed ranges, the amplitude of this oscillation is large if the system is lightly damped.
