A simple potential model is used to predict the flow round an aerofoil in a cascade, when there is a prescribed spanwise variation in the axial velocity downstream. Calculations show reasonable agreement between theoretical and experimental results (1).* The blade boundary-layer thickness is found to have a significant effect on the circulation and the change from the two-dimensional value may be reduced by half.
