Intramedullary Fixation of ‘Custom-Made’ Major Endoprostheses with Special Reference to the Bone Response

Abstract

The intramedullary response to polymethyl methacrylate cement/metal stem fixation of major femoral and tibial endoprostheses was studied radiologically and histologically. The clinical performance of the fixation of 206 such prostheses is reported.
