A bivariate Fréchet distribution which is obtained by transforming a bivariate Rayleigh distribution is presented. The emphasis is on its application to the statistics of two successive surf parameters. The results are illustrated by estimating the probability of two successive spilling breakers and two successive plunging breakers on different slopes by using wave parameters corresponding to typical field conditions.
