Abstract
Abstract
The optimum tyre force distribution is dealt with in this article, which rests on the premise of full drive-by-wire vehicle that follows a model vehicle response to driver's command. All the wheel-steer angles and wheel torques are controlled independently to distribute lateral and longitudinal forces to each tyre to optimize the tyre performance and to obtain the required vehicle response. It may be said to be one of the generic strategies of the integrated chassis controls. The effects of the integrated control are validated with computer simulations and the driving simulator under severe manoeuvring conditions.
