Abstract
Based on adsorption theory, an equivalent viscosity model is derived. Under the condition of different film thicknesses, the thickness of adsorption layers hardly changes, but the load capacity of the oil film will increase rapidly as the oil-film thickness decreases. When the clearance is in the nanometre range, the pressure change will be more obvious. When this equivalent viscosity model is applied to calculate the bearing properties, the calculation results are consistent with Reynolds equation calculations in the thick-film range and in agreement with reports and experiments in the thin-film range
