This paper presents a new approach to integrating advanced information technologies for intelligent product support. The paper promotes the concept of intelligent product manuals and outlines their main characteristics. Based on this concept, an integrated technology solution called ProManual is developed. The characteristics of ProManual are integration of three-dimensional product data, expert knowledge, virtual reality and hypermedia, interactivity, platform independence and distribution through the World Wide Web. The proposed integrated solution provides active assistance to the user by conveying product information and knowledge in a way that improves user performance.
