Abstract
An optimization procedure is developed for ultra-high-pressure water systems (UPWSs) based on an easily estimated control parameter. This parameter, ɛ, is a dimensionless number and, as a control condition, should always be unity. Any deviation from ɛ = 1 requires a system response to avoid efficiency losses. On the basis of the proposed procedure, any required change in the response parameters for UPWSs can be estimated quantitatively.
