Abstract
In this paper, a vector analysis is used to describe precisely the geometry of a hydrostatic gear pump from which full general parametric equations are deduced. A detailed kinematic analysis is made and theoretical solutions for sliding and mean velocity are obtained. The solution of the statically indeterminate system of multiple contacts between teeth is obtained. From this result, a thorough analysis in terms of sliding and mean speed, input torque, pressure contact and elastohydrodynamic film thickness is presented.
