A mathematical model of conventional freight car motion with constant speed is developed taking the work of brake equipment into account. The influence of freight car conventional brake rig on the vehicle dynamics at motion is studied. The results obtained at the computer simulation have shown that in some cases brake equipment can worsen the car dynamics.
