Abstract
The process industry has to deal with three main issues regarding gas turbines: high fuel prices, high level of reliability, and growing sensitivity for environmental issues. Many existing gas turbines need upgrading to deal with these issues. A new renovation study method for gas turbines involving the optimization process with respect to a full array of turbine details is presented. The main concern is optimum renovation solutions considering pollution and degradation. A case study for a major gas company gas turbine fleet is discussed.
