The performance characteristics of several evaporators and condensers with different geometries for use in both bottom-mount and side-by-side refrigerator/freezer units are discussed and compared. This comparison was performed on the basis of the units' material, the type of fins, the fin spacing, and the overall length of the tubes. The condenser that showed the best performance for the bottom-mount and side-by-side refrigerator/freezer applications was made with copper-rifled tubes with sine-wave aluminium fins. Similarly, the evaporator that showed the best performance for the bottom-mount and side-by-side refrigerator/freezer units was made with copper-rifled tubes with plain aluminium fins.
