The paper looks at improving the uncertainty analysis in ISO 5198 and examines the conditions under which the equation to evaluate the uncertainty in efficiency in the paper by Milne holds good. An alternative to evaluating the uncertainty of pump efficiency is described in detail in this paper. After comparing the factors that influence the uncertainty of efficiency, the paper determines the factors that can be neglected and presents measures to reduce the uncertainty in efficiency in pump efficiency testing.
