Abstract
The present paper describes a method for the determination of equations representing modified flanks using an assumed technology of gear generation. Modification of flanks is introduced by a suitable change of the trajectory of tool motion. The developed equations allow for the creation of precise geometric models of mating teeth by considering the shapes of modified flanks obtained after gear generation. After simulation of gear generation, proper finite element analysis of tooth contact of mating teeth is done, which is necessary for checking and optimization purposes.
