In a previous study, the authors related the incidence of sticker wrench faults to a characteristic acoustic emission signature. In the present paper, the effects of mill control variables on the incidence of sticker wrenching are investigated. The study provides an advance in the scientific understanding of the origins of sticker wrench defects and has considerable commercial potential.
