Abstract
This paper presents an efficient search algorithm to recognize through-hole features for demoulding purposes. Here the hole features include cylindrical and non-cylindrical hollow features, such as slots and pockets. The approach relies on a topological-based graph, which is described by a B-Rep solid model. From the case study on several industrial parts, the methodology developed is found to be effective in patching the through-hole features appearing in complex plastic parts.
