Abstract
Abstract
A procedure is developed to enable the data obtained from an exhaustive computer exercise, using finite elements, to be presented in the form of best fitted equations for use in Design Standards. Although the example chosen is directed towards the analysis of a horizontal hot oil storage vessel, the method developed can be used to obtain a best fitted equation for any set of generated or measured data. The resulting parametric equations can, thereafter, be used manually or, alternatively, programmed for a personal computer.
