Abstract
A fairly large, somewhat complicated model was used to study systematically the errors involved in the repeated use of such a model, made possible by cementing inserts into the gaps left in the model when slices have been removed. To obtain accurate results it is necessary to keep the thickness of cement as small as possible and to cure the cemented joint at elevated temperature before loading. It is also desirable to subject the insert material to the same temperature history as the model.
