Abstract
This paper extends the work on a wrought Nimonic alloy at constant stress and temperature reported in (1) to variable conditions of total load and temperature, and to a casting alloy for high-temperature service, Nimocast PK.24. The observed load redistributions are compared with calculations based on data obtained from constant-stress creep tests. Fully redistributed (steady-state) stresses have been estimated directly from constant-stress creep data and it has been shown that for these materials this method provides a good approximation to the observed fully redistributed stresses.
