Abstract
A technique for pre-attachment selection of strain gauges on a temperature-coefficient basis is proposed in which the gauge is clamped tightly between plates forming a specimen. The response of the gauge when the temperature of the specimen is changed is found to be almost identical with the response of the same gauge when attached and subjected to the same change in temperature.
