Experimental psychology courses provide students with critical research experience. Students in these courses must learn that precision in recording, analyzing, and interpreting data is an essential aspect of research. To communicate the importance of accuracy in doing research, students should be assigned grades of A or F for the results sections of laboratory reports. Papers receiving Fs could be resubmitted for reduced grades until they are free of errors.
