Abstract
Damage to buildings was surprisingly light considering the severity of the April 22 event.
Most buildings near the epicentral region are either light steel frame farming structures or small wood frame commercial and residential structures. Although some of these buildings were observed to have suffered partial or total collapse, the great majority of them were only lightly damaged.
