Abstract
The Institute of Physics’ ‘festival of physics’, held in Brighton on 19–22 April, was the first to take place in conjunction with the Physics World exhibition. Sixteen individual seminars were available to delegates in the well appointed Brighton Centre together with daily plenary lectures. Otherevents included a civic reception at the Royal Pavilion and the Congress Dinner, at which the speaker was Professor Nicholas Kurti.
