Abstract
The 2004 World Congress proved to be the largest PM event ever held in Europe, attracting some 2000 participants from 51 countries to the splendour of Vienna. The high quality technical programme of more than 550 oral and poster presentations was complemented by a strong international exhibition in which more than 100 companies and institutions showcased the latest developments in all stages of the PM process.
