Abstract
The EPMA European Hard Materials Group held the first of its themed WINTEREV meetings at Teddington, UK on 27 February 2004, report BRYAN ROEBUCK and PETER BREWIN. Held jointly with the UK National Physical Laboratory and the VAMAS Technical Working Area on Mechanical Testing of Hardmetals, the WINTEREV was attended by 16 persons from industry, academia and RTOs. Centres of expertise and interested industrial organisations came together to discuss the various issues of toughness testing of hardmetals in an informal setting.
