Technologies capable of enhancing the economic processing of advanced materials for lightweight vehicles applications are of interest to a variety of groups, including the US Government. During a project supported by the US Department of the Army, Lone Peak Engineering has demonstrated the potential of uniting the power of advanced materials based powder injection moulding (PIM) with computer aided design (CAD) flow modelling software to structure an approach that meets lightweight component production requirements.
