Metal injection moulding can offer designers flexibility in producing high volumes of complex shapes from a wide variety of materials, and also in many instances reduced cost. The main features of the process are compared with those of its main competitors, in particular precision investment casting, in an attempt to guide designers considering the use of this innovative PM technology.
