Abstract
A procedure is described for accumulating data on the friction index and compression ratio of a copper powder at different stages of oxidation and of screened fractions of a stainless-steel powder. The dimensionless and nameless powder property, friction index divided by the compression ratio, was constant under certain conditions for a regular series of size fractions of stainless-steel powder. Calculations were made of the coefficient of compression and the limiting value of the degree of volume change by the method due to Kawakita.
