Abstract
The cost of manufacturing bronze bearings is broken down under five headings and the impossibility of using a simple formula is commented upon. The costs of making 100,000 bronze bearings in each of four different ways are then given, and it is shown that they are increased by 29·2% if the bearings are produced in ten different sizes and runs of 5000 pieces, instead of one size and one run.
