Abstract
The relationship between residual porosity and stress-rupture life of sintered alloys based on nickel-chromium-cobalt has been investigated. The main conclusion is that the stress-rupture life increases with grain size, but both life and grain size appear to be independent of porosity, provided the density is not less than ∼97% of the theoretical value. Other factors influencing density, grain size, and stress-rupture life are discussed.
