Abstract
To judge whether a material is suitable for a given purpose-in this case for the manufacture of corrosion-resistant, energy-storing springs we must first consider what are the particular requirements involved. The fact that the field is limited to corrosion-resistant springs cuts out the majority of steel springs. In sub-Section VI, however, which deals with “New Methods”, in order to give a complete picture brief mention is made of the application of these processes to steel springs.
