Abstract
The platinum-group metals comprise platinum, palladium, rhodium, ruthenium, iridium, and osmium. Of the six, only platinum, palladium, and rhodium have hitherto found significant application in the electrodeposited condition, and for many years rhodium has far outweighed the others in importance, as indicated by the estimate of Laister in 1954 that the relative consumption of rhodium for plating purposes, as compared to either platinum or palladium, was 100:1.
