The characterisation of ordered GaInP by room temperature ellipsometry is reported. Anisotropy effects were observed around the energy range of the E1 interband transition and their evolution with the degree of order in the alloy has been studied. The spectra were analysed using a two phase model and the results obtained with a simple approximate treatment are compared with those of an exact anisotropic treatment.
