Abstract
In heat exchanger applications, Cu–Ni alloy tubings are extensively used, mainly because of their good deformability, resistance to corrosion, and optimum mechanical properties. Experimental extrusions of solid circular rods and tubes have been carried out on 70Cu–30Ni–Fe alloy to study the influence of temperature, pressing speed, extrusion ratio, die design, and lubricants. The results of experiments aimed at examining the effects of various extrusion parameters on the pressure requirements and surface quality of the extruded products are examined in the present paper.
