In the first part of this investigation, the creep behaviour of single phase intermetallic alloys is discussed with respect to stress dependence, temperature dependence, and effects of composition. The second part refers to two phase intermetallic alloys, with both particulate and non-particulate alloys being considered. Data are presented for single phase and two phase NiAl base alloys, and the prospects for materials developments for application at temperatures above those of the superalloys are discussed.
