An earlier model for the overall transformation kinetics of bainite has been corrected and modified to be consistent with known details of the mechanisms of bainitic nucleation and growth. A comparison with published experimental data shows that the model is capable of accurately representing the development of transformation as a function of alloy chemistry and temperature.
