Abstract
Properties of two RSP Al–Fe–Mo alloys and their processing conditions are discussed in some detail. The alloys, prepared by gas atomisation using a mixture of He, Ar, and O2, were processed by cold compaction and hot extrusion. They exhibited good room temperature and elevated temperature properties which appeared to be preserved in the high temperature extruded rods, especially in the temperature range 475–495°C. Preliminary tests indicate that these alloys have good formability. The prospects and limitations for application are discussed.
