Abstract
The influence of the alloying elements Cr, Co, and Ni on the thermodynamic properties and crystallization behaviour has been studied in (Fe1−xMx)y− metalloid1−y type metallic glasses. Calorimetric measurements as well as X-ray and electron diffraction methods were used to characterize the glasses. In addition, hardness, embrittlement, and oxidation behaviour are reported. The influence of the alloying elements is discussed in terms of their atomic structure and binary phase diagrams M–B.
