Abstract
The crystal structure and composition of the intermetallic precipitate in an Fe–1·5 at.-% Ti–7 at.-% Si alloy has been determined using a combination of electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and electron-probe microanalysis. The precipitate is shown to be stoichiometric Fe2TiSi with the face-centred cubic L21 structure.
