The benefits and dangers of cancer information are discussed. A code of conduct is suggested for those trying to distribute cancer information. Two such distribution systems are described: the Videotex Cancer Encyclopedia of the German Cancer Research Center and the telephone-based information service of the US National Cancer Institute.
