Abstract
The lexicography of science is one means of promoting the communication on which the progress of science depends. It takes as its raw material the vocabulary that has grown up during the history of scientific eftort, either tracing this development or describing the state of the vocabulary at one particular time. Such description may be concerned with defining the terms within one language or expressing degrees of equivalence between terms in difterent languages. The principles of lexicographical work are discussed and the outlook for tbe future is considered
