After a brief review of the history of his company, NEC, the concept of ‘C+C’, the integration of Computers and Communications, is developed. The future of satellite communications and optical fibre technology will support the microelectronic revolution which will have to meet the needs of an information-oriented society. The international language barriers wiIJ have to be removed by electronic means and highly developed software. Finally, the C+C concept is extended to M and C+C, including Man as the human factor, the third axis.
